Some birds never fly

Too high she soared to be in the sky
saw the world in shades of green and blue
An occasional white
would make her happy
for she could ignore the world
and for once smile with
the perennially black universe

The clouds move
the wind stops to laugh at her
She realises that
tethered to the ground
in circles
she is destined to move

Landing back at the surface
she breaks free from her wings
she doesn’t want it
The caged flight
