this lovely haiku has a bed-mate in steve wilson’s “the raven that refused to sing” i think. i instantly heard it in my head after reading it. do listen to the track if you haven’t already π
I just did…it’s lovely and does resonate with this haiku. Whoa, I feel ashamed for I did not know who Steve Wilson is…he is a great artist, I listened to Drive Home too…Thank you for introducing me to his work, Christy! π
Nothing to be ashamed about. It’s a generation thingy. The rejects from my generation had to listen to Porcupine Tree (Steve was in this band) as part of an initiation ritual into pretentious post-adolescence π
Ahahaha, ‘initiation ritual into pretentious post-adolescence’…accurate. I am there and I believe will always be. For me you might say its Radical Face/Electric President..well it’s Ben Cooper and yes what is pretentious without Oasis and a little Gallagher brother feud. :’)
woaw never heard of em, i feel like i have lost some cool points, maybe i’ll help an old lady cross the road and feel better π but yeah checking out Electric President right away!
hehe let me plug something, if you are interested in
“pretentiously subversive” music, do check out Mutton Soup for the Earlobe on Facebook. It was a little shop of horrors I once ran for the musically-ravenous.
Hey! Thank you for the nomination, this is my first, I’d love to participate. Will be ready with the post in a day or two.
Thanks again! That’s very kind of you. π
Haha, Aloha, of course you noticed that! π
I was out and..well, it was very very exhausting. That’s why I don’t like festivals – becomes more of an errand for everyone…what’s the point of calling it a ‘festival’!?
