Reality divided
into facets
each engraved
in the change
of every last
breath
I sit in front
of the lens flare
The background stares
dark in the camera face
my face is almost not there
my eyes sparkle like dying embers
the numbers hurrying towards
something I’ve forgotten
going faster than the
heartbeat count
This is what
I’ve been waiting
to ask, since I last
knew the answer to it
“Do I know you?”
Reality multiplied
with reasons to
live for
in the last breath
of every
change
Very clever! I do love the last poem and first one. And I do love the “borders” between each poem. They are so meaningful!
Your first poem:
“Reality divided
into facets
each engraved
in the change
of every last
breath”
is FASCINATING. Yes, really. And very true and accurate. Because, in my opinion, Reality is “divided into facets…” but the divisions (or borders) are illusory: we create them. In a way, poetry allows us to suppress borders and limitations… Great work. CONGRATULATIONS π β₯β₯β₯

Thank you so much, Frederic. I love your view on how facets can be surpassed through art, it’s true, it got me thinking any boundary can be surpassed by art, because it is boundless. I’m humbled by your appreciation. I was inspired by your last post…hence i included the horizontal boundaries in between! So thank YOU, my dear friend. π β€
Ah, no i do not have a twitter as of yet. =(
I'll get one soon, though.
Thanks, again!

Fantabulous work! I am amazed at how the fine elements of reality are superiorly articulated and how you talk about them being etched in the change of every last breath. “Do I know you?”- This is totally pan-optic sort….worth pondering. How can i miss the very title “To the Me who is not me” this says much saying nothing. Reality multiplied with reasons in the ending …………..renders such an unfathomable import, The poetic genius in my dear Light has jaunted very far in my absence……….:) But really glad to bump into such beautiful thing, coming back. Stay blessed and stay near. π

Haha, no genius R, just an ‘idea’ that pops up in my head once in a blue moon. π
Thank you for all the appreciation and encouragement you give me! It’s so lovely to see you comments which are always so insightful. π
Hope you are taking care of yourself, don’t over work and eat properly – do I sound like your mother?! Ahahaha π β€

Pleasure is all mine. Once in a blue moon? I’m laughing π
But seriously,,,,,,,,,,,,though it comes late, it just pops out with a latest innovation.
I love reading your wonderful poems , comments, replies, smilies, virtual cookies, hugs, love, concern………..(fill it up)
Nope, I am not taking care of myself. The new house is a total mess right now. I am not finding my things and I am too tired to search them. It is totally okay even if you sound like my mamma…………….. I am away from her and missing her a lot……………….especially now. Thank you so much D!………for the warm feeling you have given me. Treasuring it. Lots of love and hugs to you. Stay smiling. π

I’m curious who you are asking, “Do I know you?” to π
I really like the last stanza, because I really do believe that in reality there are reasons to live. Like in my son, “Coram Deo”: I want to live reality. Also, because for many people, change is a scary thing. Oftentimes, people don’t want it. As for me, I embrace change. I see it as a good thing. New adventures to embark on. New stages and seasons of life.

The idea was to ask myself – ‘Do I know you?’, we change so many times even in a day that I’d say it’s a valid question, isn’t it? π
Very true, Staci. We do find realities in the reasons we live for and it can be anything, it’s really sweet that for you it’s your son. π
For me too change is a scary thing but then without change our lives won’t be worth much, I am scared of changes, I really am. But, at the same time I look forward to it, as we never know what good is in-store for us. ^_^
