Take the Bow

take the bow2

So, this would be my first attempt at concrete/visual poetry (don’t sue me if they are not the same, I’m an ignorant) and phew this was tough, even if it might not look so! Hah!

I wanted to do this for a long time now, basically since I followed the visual poetry genius, F.G.M, although this is not even closeΒ to his brilliance and application. Thank you, my friend.Β

Hope this makes some sense. :’)

Have a great weekend fellow-bloggers!Β

  1. Beautiful work!!! I’m glad you find some inspiration in my modest workl… thanks for mentioning my blog my dear friend, and for your (too kind) words! Coincidence: I worked to day on a new “visual poem”, not an arrow, but… you’ll see soon πŸ™‚ I love the way you have placed the word PURPOSE: very clever! T wish you a wonderful Sunday. Take care & β™₯

    1. Aw, that’s really sweet of you! I’m glad you thought it was creative! And yes you are correct practice is indeed the best friend of a writer, to be honest it was really difficult for me to even come up with whatever this is, haha, so maybe I will do a visual poetry once in a fortnight, yes I will do that! Ah, thanks so much for the inspiration! πŸ™‚
      Much love!
      Also, thanks for the follow!

    1. Thank you so much, Phil! Yes, I understand when you say you had trouble following it, I should have worked more on it, guess I was too eager after the little progress that I had, haha! But really, thanks very much for the encouragement, I will definitely work on it more and see if there is any improvement. πŸ™‚

  3. Sheer Creative Brilliance! You nailed it, D! The bow is taken proudly. “A life lost in words purpose and a life cast in words purpose”- so profound is this. So true that we were the target when we ran from fake promises. I’m trying my wit to understand and imbibe this wonderful wisdom in all its perspectives. You can explain me your line of thought………I would me very glad to take it in complete and original sense. Amazingly beautiful visual poetry. Stay Shining! πŸ™‚

    1. Ah, THANK YOU, R! You’re always so supportive! Always! ❀
So, my perspective was that, we take a person as a target, as you pointed out and as it is mentioned in the middle section that we become targets the day we start running from fake promises, which is something based on a personal experience, so one might or might not understand it but haven't you felt that people sometimes force you into promises that are bound to be broken? And, if you don't want to be a part of it then you become a cast out, the first bit of the poem which is the last bit which says – 'what pierced through us was as much the fletching as the spear head…' that was supposedly there to lay stress on how what leads is as much a part of what follows and vice versa which had to go hand in hand with the fact that if you're neither of those two then you're the target or a victim. The arrow head was just meant to say that we're all lead by purpose, some are saved by their words and some get lost.
So, that was the whole thought in my head which I thought would be cool to use here, I admit I should've worked more on it but meh…it's okay. πŸ˜€
I'm SO glad that you liked it, R! It means a lot and you know that.
Stay amazing as you already are! Much love!

      1. Dearest Light, thank you soooooooo much for your lovely detailing. Now, I am able to connect all the dots. It is not that the visual poetry was not explainable…………….I am not that good at understanding visual poetry. Sometimes, I understand but in my own way not what the poet has thought of. And I honestly want to learn the poets’ idea behind it because I have already known mine. I am sorry if my comment made you feel so………….. it is just my short coming and not yours. You are very talented and I just wanted to know your intelligent idea completely. My problem is………..when in doubt, I always ask. 😦

Yes, I have many situations wherein I was forced to abide in a promise (of course bound to b broken one) and I was always the scape goat. Thank you D!…………now the poem resonates with my experiences.
Keep up the wonderful work! πŸ™‚

      2. Oh no! It was not your comment, it’s what I felt because visual poetry is supposed to be self-explanatory but this one was not so it’s nobody’s fault…it’s okay…Just FORGET this bloody poem shall we?! πŸ˜›
And don’t ever say Sorry! No, no, nope *nods head* wrong! -.-
I’m glad it resonates with you now! Hopefully, I will take a go at it again sometime later..later…yeah so someday. XD

And about your new room, let it be scattered as long as you can find your laptop, mobile, a cup/mug and tea-bags. Bliss! :’)
You won’t get a mother as cool as me! Admit it!

      3. Okay…………which poetry are you talking about D!?……..I just dont remember anything. Thank you mamma for letting me the way I am. I have kept my notebook, mobile, cup/mug, tea bags aside……rest everything is finely scattered in their own way. Thanks for your lovely understanding. I admit……………..you are the super coolest mom.

Big bundle of love and hundred hugs to you. πŸ™‚

  4. Oh dear, as impressed as I am with your Brilliance, I fear I must be a dullard–had trouble reading it. It’s not you, it’s ME.

    1. Haha, aw it’s not you, I assure you of that..i am just not comfortable with this form of poetry. So, I understand when you say you had trouble reading it. No worries, my friend!
If it’s any help all the three segments of the arrow are to be read separately. πŸ™‚
      Thanks for going through!

      1. I kinda thought maybe that was the case–that it read better if I took it a segment at a time; so if I can, I’ll try again later.

    Love it.

    1. Aww, thanks so much, Staci! It so was, it was much more difficult than i thought it would be. Moral – Patience is the key to visual poetry. XD
Ah, thanks for noticing the title! Yay! πŸ˜€
Yeah, I hope he did, but seriously it takes some major mind-application these visual poems, not my cup of tea. :’)
Speaking of, would you like a cup of tea? It can go along with the cookies you baked. I’m in a nifty mood today! Thank you.
      How are you?

      1. Ooooooohhhhh, tea would be great πŸ™‚ It’s cold here today, like seriously cold. As if it’s gone back to winter (it’s spring here right now.) I actually just baked a cake last night, so maybe that will go nice with the tea.
        πŸ™‚
I’m great, thanks. Hope you’re having a great day.

      2. I too baked a cake the day before yesterday! πŸ˜€
It was cake mix though so…it wasn’t much of a pain hehehe but then yesterday my mum baked a, what she’d call a ‘proper cake’. So we had a chocolate and a vanilla cake both. XD
With your cake, we’ll have three cakes, wow..brilliant! *tea cup clink*
        Yes, I am good. ❀
