The Bigot

Holes in her dress
analogous to the
rudimentary scabs
on the skin
Some scratched
to let the blood flow
and warm her body
Some intact so the
red is still visible –
coagulated as the
tear salt
in the snow

Her black hair flies
in the misty wind
struggling to escape
her melancholy head
Disturbing the monochrome
of the dusky morning

The broken halo
lay on the ground
next to her feet
She was forgiven
And that made her
a sinner

  1. Oh No …this is unspeakable. Each word is oozing ail. The plight of her is totally poignant. It has deeply stirred my almost settled emotions. “She was forgiven and that made her a sinner”- this tells the blotted out story.
Kudos to you, Light. You have written the subdued in a very beautiful fashion. Stay wonderful!

    1. Thank you, R! I’m glad you liked it – this is one of my very old poems, so I just re-posted it ’cause well well I’ve been unproductive for days now, maybe it’s because of the exam. So, after Sunday I’ll be back to…’me’, hopefully.
It’s great to have a reader who interprets her own – I love that about you. Thanks so much, my friend!
      Much Love and warm hugs!

      1. My Pleasure, as always. Good to read your old wonders. I was not aware of. I think, I should take a stroll through the erstwhile paths on your blog. Who knows…………chances of bumping into good old treasures are very bright.
Come back in full swing on Sunday evening. Would be waiting for you.

Thanks for your warm hugs. I need them in this cold. Hope you are all done for the exam. 🙂

      3. Do send me the list. Tea thing is done. Television actors….they are currently slumbering. Will ask them tomorrow. Reva?? okay. She is ready but few people want her here for some more time. She would definitely come next year to meet you. 🙂

Aww, "Lights go out and I can't be seen…" COLDPLAY – Why are you so perfect? 😀
Refrigerate yourself, Z, we have many more albums to come and that too about heartbreak since Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow have divorced! Ehehehe, Hazar for the sadist me?

      1. More or less–I’m tired and rather “gray”. Good luck on your exam, by the way–though I don’t operate in “luck”–I’d rather pray a blessing on you, that God will give you a peaceful mind and bring the answers to you as needed. There!

      2. Aw, thanks P! You’re the sweetest.
And you know, I sensed that you’re in a rather gray mood and that came to me through the poetry you shared on your blog. It was beautiful, as everything sad is, but it was definitely heart-wrenching. I will pray for you too as I don’t run on luck either.
        Please smile! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Staci! 🙂
The idea behind it was how when one admits that it was his/her fault only then do they acknowledge their own guilt…and hence the title bigot ’cause they are firm believers in anything they deem to be correct, so maybe the girl was a bigot and she decided to give up, the halo being a making of her own and breaking of her realisation. Yes, that was it. Silly much? Hehehe

Oh and, don’t forget the Halloween tea party. I need pumpkin shaped cookies!

        Very clever poem indeed.
Not silly at all. Intelligent actually.
Oh, oh, oh, ok I’ll get right to them. To the kitchen I go. Yeah! A Halloween tea party. Can I bring my kids?

      4. Ah, alright. I’ll pass for a kid anyway, consider how tall…sorry how short I am, you know near to hell and all. XD

Aww, do you have a picture of them on your blog? I’d like to see my Halloween buddies. 🙂

They would love to spend Halloween with you. In Brazil it’s not celebrated. Being that they watch English stuff on the internet and all, they found out about it. They both want to celebrate it with costumes and all.
        Hehehehehe.
