i see my blanket
pull motes
i see a television
scream relevance
i see a curtain
draw safety
i see a door always ajar, perhaps
pondering over deforestation
i see stairs
leave me ahead
i see shadows glide
replacing colours
i see children smile in
friendly cameras
i see parents struggling to
pattern their love
i see people push
themselves into families
i see strangers dissolve
into faces
and faces transform
into makeup –
to each their own
i see fireworks
swarm the sky
buzzing in
sounds of
celebration
i feel warm
for nothing’s changed
temporarily
Despite the seemingly depressing poem, I feel good at home. As I said – I feel warm and in-place. It could be the trance that I am always a part of (at times remotely). Nonetheless it’s good. Yeah.
On a much more important note – Thank you to all of my blogger friends for providing me with yet another year of reason. Thank you for reading. It means a lot to me.
A very happy new year to all of you. ❤
