Here, pawns
are called pawns
And no strength
seems greater than
that of your
clenched jaws
To wipe the still sweat
pooled in the unduly
concave eye socket
I take my glasses off
in a perfect parabola –
realise how small
and tired my eyes are –
As i use my pawn
as a pawn
I know that
at times I can
travel farther from
where black
and white
take me
